Technical Writing
Writing about technology requires learning about it, deciding what the user needs to know, and explaining just that. So far, I've learned and explained about fish-finding sonar; navigation products; water industry products; and the user interface to operate many of those. Often, I interview engineers and other subject matter experts, and I enjoy teaming up with them to produce the documentation.
I'm trained in the minimalistic, topic-based technical writing method. I've used Word, InDesign, XMetaL and Publication Manager
(an xml-based editor and a compatible content management system or CMS), and FrameMaker.
I was the primary author of the manuals with these pages.
